Keeping
children in their seats and discipline problems off the bus - the video

Arm violations are a continuous problem for bus drivers. The fact is
that students are more likely to suffer serious or fatal injuries as
pedestrians after leaving the school bus.

HOW IT WORKS

Silent
Witness' all weather SWC20 camera can be mounted outside the bus, or
inside, facing out. Paired with the Silent Witness SWS310
System, (sold separately), the Stop Arm System is able to accept
video signals from two different sources - the camera inside the bus and
the stop arm camera.
When the stop arm is activated, the system goes to work by directing the
video from the stop arm camera to the recording device. The Stop Arm
System effectively captures images of cars that pass the school bus
illegally. The informa-tion is stored on a VHS tape which can be given
to the police at the end of the day.
The microphone allows the driver
to voice record the license plate number of an offender for additional
evidence. When the stop arm disengages, the video signal is once again
directed from the internal camera.
Recorded video tape provides solid proof of the incident that can
potentially be used as evidence in court. The system is simple but the
impact is tremendous. In one school district alone, seven cars were
caught on tape as they illegally passed an unloading school bus within
two to three minutes. |
